Now the third largest city in Arizona, and on the verge of being called home to half a million people, Mesa is seeing explosive growth in its residential, retail, and technology sectors.
Now plans are underway for the development of a technology park that will span more than 270 acres.
The Mesa Elliott Technology Park will go up near Loop 202 and Elliott Road and will include lots of varying sizes carved out to accommodate office, industrial, and warehouse structures.
The park’s developer is the San Diego-based Sunbelt Investment Holdings, which just purchased nearly 70 more acres to add to the project.
That new acquisition means that the expected building footprint for the park will jump from 2.7 million to 3.5 million square feet.
As planned, the park could also include up to 15,000 residential units.
Mesa has seen its population jump from 396,000 in 2000 to 471,000 last year, with demographers expecting to see the city pass the half million mark in the next two to three years.
