Arizona Shopping Center Could See Redevelopment

A 189,000 square foot mall that was originally opened in 1990 but fell on hard times in recent years may soon be redeveloped with an eye toward turning it into a furniture-focused outlet center.

The site, at Interstate 10 and Jimmie Kerry Boulevard, currently has retail spaces varying in size from just under 1800 square feet to around 12, 800 square feet.

The project could see the reconfiguring of some of those spaces in order to accommodate the new furniture center.

AZSourcing, which is based in Scottsdale, says the new center will feature the largest collection of home furnishings, furniture, and décor in the southwestern states.

It is not known when work on the new center will begin, but reports indicate that the former mall should be open to new customers by early next year.
