All-Practice Facility Approved for University of Arizona Campus

After months of speculation, a new multi-purpose training facility is slated for construction on the main campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Members of the Arizona Board of Regents have given their approval to building what is being called the Indoor Sports Center, which will most likely go up just to the east of the historic outdoor Arizona Stadium, between E. Enke Drive and E. 6th Street.

The all-weather building will be used for a variety of sporting and athletic programs at the school and is expected to cost $18 million to build.

The structure will be most prominently used by the University of Arizona Wildcats. According to reports, it will feature a 90-yard field and ceiling height of at least 65 feet.

Construction on the new facility will most likely begin early next spring with a fall 2018 completion date.
