Splendid Sun Productions, a music promotion and event production company, is already known throughout El Paso for its successful Neon Desert Music Festival, a two-day, 15-block event held every spring that attracts up to 32,000 people to the city’s downtown.
The company also, in 2014, purchased the Lowbrow Palace, an El Paso nightclub known for varied music fare.
Now Splendid Sun has announced plans to build another club in the 1100 block of Texas Avenue in a part of El Paso dotted with warehouses and industrial space.
Part of the project will see the renovation and upgrading of a four-story, 60,000 square-foot warehouse at the corner of Texas Avenue and Noble Street that was built in 1917.
That structure will be turned into retail and housing space, with the rest of the block partly used for the opening of a second Lowbrow Palace.
The project awaits approval for a zoning change that will take the site from light industrial to mixed-use.
