A popular burger chain with a devoted following has announced plans to build a new location in Arizona, among other Western states.
Based in Irvine, California, In-N-Out Burgers have through the decades been primarily a Golden State phenomenon, with store locations up and down the coast.
Launched in 1948, the chain only began to build in other states with outlets in Arizona in 2000 and Nevada four years later. Since then, the company, which today has around 400 stores, has opened locations in Washington, Utah, and Texas, while also building a distribution and production facility in Colorado Springs.
The company is currently planning to build an office headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, which it expects to open next year.
With annual revenue exceeding $1.8 billion, In-N-Out now also wants to expand its presence in Arizona, with a new location in the city of Surprise. That would bring its total number of outlets in Arizona to around 40 – the company’s second largest state.
In-N-Out stores generally measure a little under 4,000 square feet, although plans for a new presence on the Las Vegas Strip call for up to 8,000 square feet of indoor space, along with another 2,500 square feet of patio space.
Described as a “cult-favorite burger chain” by the industry publication QSR, the chain has also been highly rated in an industry survey, notes the San Francisco Gate, for its “food quality, speed of service, value and staff friendliness.”
