Work may begin sometime next year on the building of a new residential project on the south side of Peoria, Arizona that will include 72 multifamily residential units.

The project belongs to developer Northern Properties, which has offices in Scottsdale, and will be built in a residential section of the city at the northeast corner of Northern Avenue and 87th Avenue.

According to city documents, the site, at 4.7 acres, is “one of several long and narrow infill parcels situated along Northern Avenue.” That site runs parallel with the Brighton Charter School at 8632 Northern Avenue.

As proposed, the project will see the building of 5 two-story buildings, housing 48 one-bedroom units and 24 two-bedroom units.

Both the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission as well as the Peoria City Council have now given their approval to a site rezoning request, allowing for work to begin on the project. Project architect for the multifamily development is Circle West Architects of Phoenix.
