In a move to further consolidate its operations in Arizona, Walmart has finalized the purchase of a nearly 1.3 million-square-foot building that it will use as a warehouse facility in Phoenix.
The retail giant purchased the structure near the Luke Air Force Base for a reported $152 million, an exchange that is thought to be one of the largest in metro Phoenix history.
The deal will see Walmart located inside the 140-acre Luke Field logistic park, some 11 miles to the west of downtown Glendale.
The park contains three separate buildings and was unveiled in the fall of 2023. Those three structures are made up of a 695,000-square -oot building, a 454,000-square-foot building, and a building measuring in excess of 1.2 million square feet.
Judged by revenue, Walmart is both the largest company and largest employer in the world, with current year revenue more than $680 billion.
The company currently has 84 Supercenters, along with another 26 discount stores, and three warehouses in Arizona.
