Canadian Smart Housing Developer Wants to Build in Buckeye, Arizona

Plans have been announced for the construction of a 510-unit apartment complex that will go up near the Verrado master-planned community in Buckeye.

The project belongs to Highstreet Ventures Incorporated, which is based in Kelowna, British Columbia, and specializes in community-focused rental projects.

The company has purchased for $9.3 million some 18 acres in the Verrado vicinity, which is roughly 25 miles to the west of downtown Phoenix, and one of the hottest real estate markets in southern Arizona.

With an anticipated 14,000 residential units at full build out, Verrado is based on an early 19th century neighborhood concept with a variety of townhouses and single-family residences.

Highstreet Ventures has said that it wants to offer a variety of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. The units will be housed in nine separate three-story buildings.

The project will additionally see the construction of a clubhouse and swimming pools.

Billing itself as developing “smarter real estate that makes a real impact,” Highstreet Ventures was launched in 2005 and has thus far completed well over two dozen such projects, seeing the construction of more than 2,500 residential units in the process.

A rezoning request for the site upon which the Highstreet Ventures will be built is set to be reviewed two weeks from now by the Buckeye City Council.
