Plans are moving along for the construction of an eight-story luxury hotel that will go up on the north end of Phoenix and will include 240 rooms.
The project is being spearheaded by the Holualoa Companies, which has offices in both Phoenix and Tucson, and specializes in office, retail, industrial, and hotel development work, among other areas.
The project, to be done in conjunction with the real estate developer LaPour Partners, also of Phoenix, will additionally include up to 5,700 square feet of meeting and flex space, suites with balconies, electric vehicle chargers, and outdoor fireplaces.
The hotel, upon completion, will be branded as both an AC Hotel by Marriott and Element by Westin, with the Marriot portion comprising 142 rooms, and the rooms belonging to the Element by Westin coming in at just under 100.
The exact location for the new hotel is at the intersection of E. Deer Valley Drive and 16th Street, some 20 miles to the north of downtown Phoenix in an area of new residential growth.
The hotel will be a part of the ambitious and ongoing CityNorth development, a self-described “new urban district” that will eventually include more than 3,400 apartment units, 2 million square feet of modern office development, and, ultimately, up to 1,000 new hotel rooms.
Launched in 1985, the Holualoa Companies has acquired more than $3 billion in real estate assets, overseeing a diversity of projects primarily in Arizona.
If all goes as anticipated, work on the new CityNorth hotel is scheduled to begin this summer with a roughly early 2027 completion date.
