In one more sign that its western market is continuing to grow, the Dollar Tree discount store chain has purchased a massive 1.2 million-square-foot building in Glendale for use as a distribution center.
The building is located within the borders of the Park303 logistics park off Arizona State Route 303 at Glendale Avenue. Dollar Tree purchased the structure for $147 million from the Lincoln Property Company of Dallas.
The larger park is made up of four industrial-sized structures equaling nearly 4 million square feet.
Based in Chesapeake, Virginia, Dollar Tree currently has more than around 9,000 stores and 18 distribution centers. The company has been on an expansion campaign in recent months, seeing the opening of just over 100 new locations during the second quarter of this year.
In September the company announced plans to rebuild an existing distribution center in Marietta, Oklahoma, adding another 1 million square feet to its distribution footprint. The company’s previous 1 million-square-foot facility in Marietta was destroyed by a tornado in April of 2024.
In an earnings statement, Mike Creedon, Dollar Tree chief executive officer, said the company’s “strong sales growth, margin outperformance, and market share” reinforces the “unique position that Dollar Tree occupies in today’s retail landscape.”
As of the spring of this year, the company had also converted just under 600 existing store locations.
Dollar Tree’s only other distribution center presence in the southwest is in San Bernardino, California.
