A long popular 10-acre guest ranch just outside Tucson that has for decades attracted visitors from across the country is now on the market. Asking price: $5.5 million.
Located at 13500 N Oracle Road, Rancho de Los Cerros is surrounded by the Catalina State Park, just over 18 miles to the northeast of downtown Tucson.
The central built feature of the property is a 27,700-square-foot, two-story guest house that was built in 1935 and is designated as a Class C building. Updated in 1986, the structure is resplendent with polished wooden floors, detailed wooden doors, and winding staircases.
Once the site of a summer camp sponsored by the Young Women’s Christian Association, the larger property includes everything from a caretaker’s home to a fitness center, workshop, swimming pool, and fenced pasture.
Subsequently purchased by attorney and businessman David Hoffman, who upgraded the property and its structures, and built a nearly 4,400-square-foot barn, the property was transformed into a corporate retreat.
The retreat featured entertainment, with a line-up that soon included everyone from the Beach Boys to John Denver to Lee Greenwood.
The property, billed as “an exclusive estate or event venue,” is being listed by the Tucson-based Branel Real Estate Company.
