New water and sewer services infrastructure projects to the tune of around $33.5 million may soon become reality depending upon the actions of the El Paso County Commissioners Court.
Members of that body, after officially approving a Notice of Intent late last month, are considering giving a green light to up to $54 million in projects in a variety of areas, all of which would be undergirded by certificates of obligation.
Also listed as priority items that could be funded via the loan process is up to $16 million in roadway safety improvement projects on Ascension Road and Pellicano Drive.
Commission members are additionally weighing some $2.5 million in flood control projects. That funding would specifically target the deepening and widening of an existing drainage channel on 1st Street in the town of Canutillo.
Another $2 million will go for industrial air conditioning units in the Family Youth Services Center at 6314 Delta Drive.
Two public input meetings are scheduled to be held in early May regarding the projects before the commissioners take a final vote on whether to approve the certificates of obligation on May 12.
