The nation’s largest ready-mix concrete producer and supplier is planning to build a new facility in Denver’s Elyria Swansea neighborhood.
Specializing in a wide variety of concrete products and operating any number of ready-mix plants and quarries, the Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based SRM Concrete has purchased four parcels of land in the Mile High City to launch its latest operations.
The parcels, which SRM got for around $9.4 million, are in both the 5100 block of N. Brighton Boulevard and 5100 block of N. York Street in an industrial section of the city just slightly to the north of downtown Denver.
Part of the site, for more than a decade, has been the home to the Eco Truck Wash.
According to plans earlier reported on by the Denver Business Journal, the company intends to “demolish several buildings and create concrete wet batch infrastructure on the cleared land.”
The land has been in the hands of a company called Wood Glen Holdings II which purchased the site some twelve years ago for around $950,000.
The new SRM project will be part of a larger Denver presence for the company, which currently has three locations in the city.
SRM’s national profile is heavily invested in the Midwest and South, with existing facilities in some 24 states.
Last week the company announced that it was entering into a partnership with the Denver Broncos, currently in the planning phase for construction of a new stadium, in which it will become the team’s official concrete supplier.
In announcing the partnership, Damani Leech, Broncos president, remarked: “With a growing presence in this region and an established reputation for quality and dependability, SRM Concrete is an idea partner during such a transformational time for our organization.”
