Fort Collins Church May Build New Multi-Purpose Facilities, Along with a Labyrinth

Officials with a Fort Collins church are contemplating a project that would see the building of a small number of apartments, along with new worship space, and outdoor labyrinth.

The project would belong to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, which is currently leasing space at the Trinity Lutheran Church located at 301 E. Stuart Street, some 2 miles to the south of downtown Fort Collins.

As proposed, the diverse project would be built on some 5 acres at the Stuart Street site, according to documents filed with the City of Fort Collins. That property is in a predominantly residential section of the city.

Those documents also suggest that the worship space could be a two-story affair, with the affordable apartments built on the second floor.

The worship space would be used by both St. Paul’s as well as the Trinity Lutheran church.

Labyrinths have become increasingly popular church property features nationally. Recognized, according to the publication Forbes, for their “positive health benefits,” many labyrinths have also seen construction on hospital and prison grounds.
