The Heart of the Rockies Christian Church of Fort Collins has announced that it is interested in developing an 11-acre site it owns for possible housing and other community purposes.
The church, which was founded in 1993 and currently operates out of a modern, spacious facility built two decades ago at 6501 Brittany Street, is currently seeking one or several non-profit partners who can get behind what would essentially be a community services facility.
That facility could comprise one or several buildings, according to church officials.
The church takes up only a portion of the larger and mostly vacant southeast Fort Collins site where the new building will go up.
As envisioned, the building will also include a community meeting room, kitchen, bathrooms with showers, and office space.
The site, a short walk to the suburban upscale Westchase neighborhood, is zoned as low density mixed use.
