Growing AdventHealth Set to Build New Healthcare Facility in Aurora Subdivision

A site that was once the home for a data storage technology company in Louisville may be on its way to seeing the construction of a new hospital.

The land, located within the borders of the city’s Redtail Ridge subdivision near the intersection of US Route 36 and Northwest Parkway, has been purchased by the nonprofit AdventHealth for a reported $34 million.

Based in Altamonte Springs, Florida, AdventHealth operates facilities in nine states and has been particularly active in Colorado.

Earlier this year, the company said it planned to build an $81 million, 88,000-square-foot healthcare facility in nearby Aurora., some 30 miles to the southeast of Louisville.

According to the Denver Business Journal, Redtail Ridge is under a special warranty deed that allows for only a certain type of development at the site, including an acute general care hospital, oncology center, and surgical center, among other healthcare facilities.

The plans for the nearly 400-acre Redtail Ridge itself, as a subdivision, were only just approved last summer, with a requirement that nearly half of the land at the site be set aside for open space, parks, and trails.

A construction schedule for exactly when AdventHealth will build in Redtail Ridge has not yet been announced.
