A very long-standing and classic apartment building in the Capitol Hill section of Denver is on the market with an asking price of $12 million.

Known as The Novelist, the structure was built in 1937 and is designated as a Class B structure.

With 69 studio, one-, and two-bedroom units spread out over ten stories, the commanding tan and red brick structure is a throwback to pre-World War II urban apartment complex construction with 11-foot ceilings, large closets, and Art Deco-designed internal doors.

Originally called the Colburn Apartments, the nearly 34,000-square-foot structure is in many ways similar in design to the Colburn Hotel at nearby 980 Grant Street.

The structure was purchased in the fall of 2017 for $11 million by the apartment management company Red Peak.

Listed by the Pinnacle Real Estate Advisors of Denver, the building is in a section of the city dominated by multi-story apartment and office complexes.
