One of the most successful health club chains has just announced plans to put up a new and very big location in Gilbert, Arizona.
According to documents, the Chanhassen, Minnesota-based Life Time Fitness wants to build a two-story, 120,000 square foot facility that will go up on the southwest corner of Val Vista Drive and E. Ocotillo Road.
As proposed, the new facility will include two basketball courts, as well as four swimming pools, two of which will be outside, the other two inside. Additional features: eight pickleball courts and eight tennis courts.
There will also be space for daycare services, a café, and retail store.
The project, which has now won the approval of the Gilbert Planning Commission, will include new landscaping, grading, and drainage infrastructure on a just under 18-acre site. The new Gilbert location represents only the latest project for a company increasingly making its presence known in the southwest, with half a dozen outlets already in operation in the metro Phoenix area.
Life Time has more than 150 locations nationally, with a strong presence in the Midwest, Texas, and California.
