Magna Company Reveals Plans for New Mesa Production Plant

One of the largest suppliers in the world of automotive products has announced plans to repurpose a 230,000-square-foot facility in Mesa, Arizona.

Magna is a subsidiary of the Aurora, Ontario-based Magna International, which supplies everything from assemblies, automotive systems, and modules to such companies as Ford, General Motors, Tesla, and Volkswagen.

Founded in 1957, Magna International’s annual revenue has surpassed the $36 billion mark. For years, according to the National Post, the company has been regarded as a “jewel among Canadian auto parts companies by analysts.”

Now the Magna company wants to expand production capacity with a new manufacturing presence located within Mesa’s Power Industrial Park, near Power Road and E. Pecos Road on the southeast side of the city.

In a statement, Eric Wilds, marketing officer with Magna, said the availability of a reliable workforce in southern Arizona, will help to “meet our commitment to drive innovation and deliver value to our customers.”

The presence of the new Magna facility, according to the Phoenix Business Journal, will add to a “pipeline of emerging and established firms in an automotive ecosystem in the Valley that already includes Lucid and Nikola.”
