Plans have been submitted to the City of Denver for the construction of a 135-unit apartment complex that will include such features as a rooftop deck and what is called an “amenity lawn.”
Developer for the proposed project is the Atlanta-based Resource Housing Group, a company that specializes in affordable housing development.
The project has received particular attention because, if ultimately approved, it would go up on property at the southeast corner of 40th Avenue and York Street that is currently owned by the Regional Transportation District.
That 2.3-acre site is located in the city’s Clayton neighborhood that more than a decade ago was home to a one-story retail structure long since demolished.
Founded in 1994, the Resource Housing Group has to date built more than fifty individual complexes representing some 6,000 residential units. The company has also completed memory care facilities as well as build-to-rent communities.
Last fall the group broke ground on a $18.4 million affordable housing project in the city of Ayden, North Carolina, which will include 80 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.
