Work could begin later this year in Commerce City on the construction of a distribution facility measuring more than 1 million square feet.
The project, belonging to Becknell Industrial and Ares Management Corporation, will entail a total of three separate buildings and will go up within an existing business park located at Tower Road and East 84th Avenue.
Also included in the project plans: a 330,000 square foot cross-dock warehouse, as well as a 170,500 square foot rear-loading structure.
Building plans for the project also allow for the possible construction of an additional 162,000 square foot structure on 17 acres of the site.
The 170-acre site, which was purchased by Becknell for more than $22 million, is some 12 miles to the west of the Denver International Airport.
Based in Carmel, Indiana, Becknell Industrial has a portfolio of more than 25 million square feet of industrial real estate and has spearheaded projects throughout Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.
Ares Management is based in Los Angeles, and specializes in real estate and strategic investments, among other fields.
