Plans have been announced for the construction of a new gas plant that will go up in southeastern New Mexico and will belong to a burgeoning Houston-based oil and gas company.
Trace Midstream was founded just nine years ago. The new facility is to be called the Apollo Gas Plant and will provide “North Delaware Basin producers a single, integrated outlet spanning low-pressure gathering, compression, transportation, and natural gas processing.”
As envisioned, the company will be building two compressor stations as part of the project, along with 36 miles of pipelines.
Upon the completion of its latest project, Trace will be overseeing a vast system of some 200 miles of pipelines and fourteen compression stations.
In a press release, the company says that the Apollo Gas Plant is being backed by “multiple new longterm contracts with both new and existing companies.”
In the early months of its launching, Trace received equity commitments in excess of $200 million from the Quantum Energy Partners company, with the goal of pursuing “natural gas, crude, and water midstream solutions in various basins throughout North America.”
The company, which has also been active in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas, hopes to see the Apollo plant fully operational by late 2027.
