Plans are moving along for the construction of a new and modern hospital in Flagstaff that will belong to the Northern Arizona Healthcare system.
An application has now been submitted to the City of Flagstaff’s Planning and Development Office to build the facility, which will include at some point a health and wellness village, on the south side of Flagstaff.
The project more specifically will be built off Interstate 17 just to the north of the Fort Tuthill county park, which once served as a National Guard training center.
The facility will be built on a planned 190 acres and will additionally include single-occupancy rooms and an ambulatory clinic.
Founded in 1995, Northern Arizona Healthcare is based in Flagstaff and is the largest healthcare provider in northern Arizona.
Depending upon the approval of the city, work on the ambulatory clinic could be completed by late 2023, with an anticipated 2026 opening for the hospital.
