Plans have been announced for the construction of an upper end apartment complex on the northwest side of El Paso that will house nearly 300 units.
To be called the Avery Shadow Mountain apartment complex, the project will belong to the Myers Group, which is based in Miami, and will go up at 201 Shadow Mountain Drive near the intersection of Pebble Beach Drive.
Envisioned as a complex with four multi-story buildings featuring balconies, the project includes a clubhouse, fitness room, and swimming pool, along with up to 7,000 square feet of restaurant space, and 2,500 square feet of retail.
Plans also call for the building of a parking garage with space for 538 vehicles.
The site for the project is currently vacant and a block or so away from the modernistic Coronado Tower office building at 6006 N Mesa Street, which was built in 1964.
The Myers Group specializes in mixed-use and multi-family projects and has previously renovated the historic Hotel Paso Del Norte in downtown El Paso, which was built in 1912 and updated by the Miami company two years ago.
Documents regarding the new Avery Shadow Mountain project are expected to soon be reviewed by the El Paso Plan Commission, preceding a vote by the El Paso City Council.
