Work may begin early next year on the building of a luxury car holding facility on the north side of Scottsdale.

Members of the Scottsdale City Council have given their unanimous approval to the facility that will belong to the company Collectors’ Garage.

Altogether, the new facility will measure more than 76,000 square feet and will include just under 50 individual partitioned spaces for vehicles.

Set to be built specifically on five acres at 9909 E. McDowell Mountain Ranch Road, the officially named Collectors’ Garage at Westworld is part of a growing industry seeing high-tech buildings providing storage space for expensive vehicles.

Earlier this spring the company Toy Barn, which has seven upscale vehicle storage locations in southern Arizona, revealed plans to build an eighth facility in Scottsdale.

It is thought that it will cost upwards of $55 million to build the new Collectors’ Garage project.

According to city documents, the facility will include a meeting space that “will be furnished with a very high end country club feel.”

The Collectors’ Garage anticipates, adds the documents, that most of the vehicle owners will be “out of state visitors who need space to store their classic yet expensive automobiles.”
