New National Real Estate Report Sees Stable Market for Rest of Decade, with a Return to 1950s Values

The big housing market boom of the pandemic years, and the bust of the Great Recession years, is not likely to be repeated anytime soon, predicts a new national report.

But the market, according to the company Norada Real Estate Investments, will see some stabilization due a leveling of prices: “Home prices are still expected to rise, albeit at a more moderate pace.”

That trend will be helped by a widening of the pool. “The lack of available homes for sale has been a major driver of rising home prices in recent years.” However, between now and late 2029, with more houses being completed, “we can expect to see some relief from the supply shortage.”

The role played by the Federal Reserve, of course, will remain pivotal. A rise in interest rates seen particularly in 2022 and 2023, has significantly lessened. Says the Norada report: “Interest rates are anticipated to gradually recede, potentially culminating in a resurgence of demand in the housing market.”

Based in Laguna Niguel, California, Norada Real Estate Investments specializes in market analysis as well as building, renovating, and selling properties for immediate rental or occupancy upon purchase.

Members of the Millennial Generation and Generation Z are slated to become the dominant forces in the market in the immediate years to come, while at the same time the “back to the city” trend appears to have been played out.

In fact, the priorities of the two generations sound like nothing less than what the parents of Baby Boomers were looking for in the 1950s and early 60s: “Many buyers are now looking in suburban and rural areas rather than traditional urban centers, reflecting a desire for more space and community amenities.”
