Work may begin this early next year on the building of a big 100,000 square foot self-storage facility in northern Rio Rancho.
The company Roadrunner Storage says it wants to build the facility on a vacant site at 900 Moccasin Drive NE in a sparsely populated part of the city.
The facility, as designed by Scott Anderson & Associates Architects of Albuquerque, will include several storage buildings as well as a structure housing an office. According to city documents, the structures will comprise a “variety of glazing, stucco, building step-backs, and balconies.”
Altogether, the facility will comprise upwards of 100,000 square feet.
Members of the Rio Rancho Planning and Zoning Board have given the green light to a conditional use permit for the project on a site that is currently zoned C-1 for retail commercial.
