Plans are advancing for the construction of a series of three-story luxury townhomes that will go up in a mixed commercial/residential section of Vail at the current site of the First Bank at 17 Vail Road.
The project belongs to the real estate management group East West Partners, which is based in Avon, and the First Bank itself.
As envisioned, the project, which will feature four-bedroom units measuring around 4,800 square feet, will include spacious front balconies and underground parking space.
The Denver-based 4240 Architecture is handling the design of the project, which is being called the Prima Residences.
If all goes as planned, work on the new townhomes will most likely begin later next year. But first, the two-story bank, which was built in 1972, will be demolished.
A Prima Residences advertisement for the townhomes says they will be built to “honor the legacy of Vail, with every beam, every sunlit window, every snow-dusted doorstep.”
