A nearly 100-year-old former brick apartment building in downtown El Paso with a troubled past is now on the market with an asking price of $975,000.
Located at 219 W. Overland Avenue, the just over 3,700-square-foot, one-story structure is distinguished by its arched brick window frames and front doorway and sits on an 8,000-square- foot site a block away from the El Paso Convention Center.
Designated as a Class C structure, the building additionally borders the historic Duranguito neighborhood.
It was formerly the site of low-cost housing, although vacant for the most part of the last decade. During those years the building has been a target for vandals and endured a fire in the summer of 2021 but has since been stabilized.
A two-story cement structure directly to the rear of the building and of equal age was demolished in 2022.
The property is being listed by the realtor RC Properties of El Paso, which is advertising its location in a “rapidly evolving urban corridor.”
