A 100-year-old Denver movie house first showing films during the silent era is now listed on the market.

Located at 1912 S. Broadway, just 7 miles to the south of downtown Denver, the two-story Jewel Theater measures nearly 8,000 square feet and is designated as a Class C structure.

The structure saw significant interior renovations in the last several years, undertaken by two investors who reportedly spent upwards of $2 million on the effort.

The building, which has also undergone a series of exterior alterations through the years after it stopped serving as a movie house in the 1970s, was formerly the home of the Thrill Seekers Climbing Gym.

The Jewel Theater building is a part of a stretch of Broadway populated with mostly one-story structures built in the 1920s and 30s.

A marquee that was original to the building was removed around 2012. The structure itself was vacant and boarded up in 2019 and 2020.

The property is being listed with Peaks Commercial Real Estate, which has offices in Silverthorne.
