A 10,500-square-foot structure in the popular Nob Hill neighborhood of Albuquerque is now on the market with an asking price of exactly $1.2 million.
The property at 4310 Central Avenue SE is designated as a Class B structure and was built in 2000. As offered by the Albuquerque office of realtor Resolut Re, the listing also includes a vacant 58,500-square-foot site to the rear of the Central Avenue building.
The 4310 Central Avenue structure is the former home of O’Neill’s Pub, a celebrated local mainstay specializing in Irish brews, fish and chips, and shepherd’s pie.
While O’Neill’s has kept open a second location at 3301 Juan Tabo Boulevard NE, the closing of the Nob Hill outlet was seen in some media reports as symptomatic of challenges facing the larger Nob Hill area in general.
Established in the mid-1920s, Nob Hill has long been known for its eclectic mix of restaurants, taverns, galleries, and retail outlets. Because of their location on Route 66, several Nob Hill structures have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In the last year, half a dozen Nob Hill businesses have announced their closures, some pointing to the lingering impact of the Covid 19 economic shutdowns, while other have said that commercial rents in the area remain a challenge.
At the same time, Jim Long, chief executive officer of the Heritage Real Estate Company, has announced that he is extensively upgrading the 47,300-square-foot former Nob Hill Business Center at 3500 Central.
The Resolu Re listing at 4310 Central Avenue includes kitchen and office space.
