A nearly 70,000-square-foot, one-story building  in Pueblo that used to house an Albertson’s grocery store is scheduled to go to auction next month.

Located at 1545 S. Prairie Avenue, the free-standing structure, which is designated as a Class B building, sits on a 6.1-acre site and was built in 1972. It includes two loading docks and parking space for up to 347 vehicles.

The auction listing is being handled by the Woodland Hills, California-based Illi commercial real estate firm.

The two-day auction is set to begin on July 13, with a required minimum opening bid of $900,000.

Albertson’s ceased operations at the Prairie Avenue location in the spring of 2018 during a time when the company was consolidating its properties.

Before Albertson’s, the building was part of the Quincy, Illinois-based County Market chain, which operates primarily in the Midwest.
