A new factory may see the light of day in Broomfield, Colorado as a Kansas City-based tech startup announces plans to move to the Centennial State.

The company Raven Space Systems is putting together 3D printed hypersonic flight testbed vehicles. The vehicles will be used in the development of hypersonic materials and technologies for both the defense and space industries.

The company’s move to Broomfield has been accelerated by a $5.8 million Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit awarded via the Colorado Economic Development Commission.

Raven Space was founded in 2020. Last November it was the recipient of a $1.8 million Small Business Technology Transfer contract.

When that contract was announced, the publication Start Land News noted that Raven Space’s greatest asset is in developing a working model designed to “minimize labor, tooling, and waste, to manufacture optimally designed structures, and thermal protection.”

The new Raven Space presence in Broomfield will see the building of both its headquarters and a manufacturing facility. An exact schedule for the project is yet to be announced.
