With more and more entities in New Mexico entering the cultivation, production, and storage of cannabis, a Silver City warehouse is being listed for sale as a “potential cannabis facility.”
Located at 11785 Highway E, some six miles to the northeast of downtown Silver City, in a spacious area sporadically dotted with industrial facilities, the one story-building measures 16,000 square feet and is being offered for sale for $895,000.
Listed with the NRG Realty Group, which is based in Irving, Texas and specializes in large industrial and warehouse space properties, the structure was originally built in 1981 and underwent a renovation nearly a decade ago.
The building houses nearly 1,800 square feet of office space, which includes three separate offices, as well as a conference room, and break room. The warehouse portion of the building measures just over 14,200 square feet and features five drive-in bays, and 14-foot-tall overhead doors.
The building, which formerly housed a propane and natural gas business, additionally sits on a 2.5-acre site in a zone designated as commercial.
Last spring, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed into law the Cannabis Regulation Act which established protocols for the testing and production of recreational cannabis.
At the same time, the New Mexico Department of Economic Development offered cannabis producers funding to help with the purchase and retrofitting of buildings, and road construction and utility extensions, through the Local Economic Development Act.
