One of the oldest hotels in New Mexico, connected to one of the most unique natural wonders in the state, is now on the market with an asking price of $2 million.
Located at 516 Austin Street in downtown Truth or Consequences, the Hoosier Hot Springs was built in 1937 and is regarded as a local icon with its 1930s modern architectural exterior and interior details.
Advertised for its “private mineral baths,” the two-story Hoosier Hot Springs structure is classified as a Class B building and sits on a less than one-acre site.
Measuring just over 5,500 square feet, the structure includes three private indoor hot spring baths and an outdoor hot spring jacuzzi. The property underwent a general renovation last year.
Truth or Consequences is known for its hot springs, which are a part of the Hot Springs Artesian Basin. At the time of the hotel’s building, the city was home to well over two dozen natural hot springs spas, all contributing to a thriving local tourist industry.
The building is listed with the Las Cruces offices of NAI First Valley Realty.
