A Colorado property that is part motel and part drive-in theater is now up for sale with an asking price of $3.8 million.
Located at 2830 U.S. Highway 160 W, the Best Western Movie Manor sits on an airy 41-acre site just slightly to the west of the city of Monte Vista and houses 59 guest rooms. The structure encompasses around 4,400 square feet and is categorized as a Class C building.
The site is additionally the home to the long-standing and popular Star Drive-In, which was opened in 1955.
The Star is “one of the few remaining drive-in theaters still operating in Colorado,” notes the Valley Courier newspaper of Alamosa. In fact, according to United Drive-In Theater Owners Association there currently only seven such theaters remaining in the Centennial State, down from three times that figure in the 1960s.
The property is being listed by the Steamboat Springs-based Prime Investment Properties.
